A Year in Review: Helping Our Neighbors in Need in 2021

As we welcome another year, we'd like to take a look back at the progress and achievements we made in 2021. We are so thankful for the support and generosity that have helped us make a difference in Pierce County.

Making a lasting Impact

In 2021, through St. Vinnie’s Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs Program, we provided more than $686,943 in direct financial assistance to more than 12,225 people in our community.

Many of our neighbors in Pierce County are facing financial distress. At St. Vincent de Paul, we understand the panic and hopelessness this can bring. That’s why we strive to make the process of obtaining help through our Mission Outreach Help Line as smooth as possible. From utility assistance to short-term motel stay vouchers, here’s a look at some of the financial assistance we provided to help bridge the gap last year.

WALK to Prevent Homelessness

Like a majority of events and activities in 2021, our annual WALK to Prevent Homelessness was virtual. Although we wished we could have all participated in this event together, we were so happy to see many of you participating virtually in your neighborhoods. Together we raised more than $10,000 to support our Homeless Prevention and Basic Needs Program.

Thrift is Hip! Providing a Helping Hand

We are beyond grateful for the members of our community who spent time in 2021 volunteering at St. Vinnies. From sorting and tagging merchandise to helping on the retail floor, our volunteers gave more than 4,200 hours of their time to support our mission. We love our volunteers!
