St. Vincent de Paul Opens Community Resource Center

As we enter 2023, we are looking forward to providing a central location to provide services, education, and outreach to the community. Throughout last year, our St. Vinnie’s Team has been working to transform the eCommerce building into a Community Resource Center (CRC) to create a welcoming space for walk-in assistance.

Expanding Community Support

“Over the past two years, the need for extra support and resources has become even more apparent,” said Tracy Peacock, executive director. “We are excited to open the St. Vincent de Paul Community Resource Center to act as the hub of our Mission Outreach Program. This enables us to officially expand from just a Help Line to a viable space to help our neighbors in need.”

“The center will allow us to serve the community at an extended capacity while being able to approach each client’s needs with discretion and privacy. This enables our mission outreach team to use a more trauma-informed approach,” said Peacock. “We also look forward to partnering with other community organizations to provide a central location to expand services. In collaboration with our community partners, we will work together to meet the needs of our neighbors and make connections whenever we cannot provide a specific service.”

Resources Available to our Neighbors in Need Housed in the CRC

Through St. Vinnie’s Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs Program, we continue to address each person’s need on a case-by-case basis, providing immediate financial and material support. We provide financial and material resources such as rental deposits, utility assistance, emergency motel sheltering, clothing, household supplies, inclement weather survival items and emergency basic needs provisions. Last year, we helped more than 20,000 people (about the seating capacity of Madison Square Garden) and provided more than $650,000 in financial assistance.

New Program to Reach our Latino Neighbors

Centro Rendu is our newest program that will also operate from the CRC. Centro Rendu focuses on protecting, supporting, and defending Latino immigrant families. This program provides case management, referral services and legal advocacy.
