How to Make the Most of Your SVdP Thrifting Experience

Whether you're decorating your new home, looking to refresh your wardrobe or simply love to thrift, we want to help you have the best experience at St. Vinnies. Here are four ways to help you make the most out of your visit!

1. Have a Plan and be Thorough

Thrifting can become overwhelming, so it doesn’t hurt to form a game plan. If there’s a certain item you are searching for, we suggest starting in that section upon arrival, then work your way through the rest of our store. If you didn’t spot what you were looking for the first time around, be sure to make a second loop to see if any new items were placed or if you may have overlooked it. Remember to check behind items just in case something good may be hiding!

2. Shop the Sales

Our Tacoma Thrift Store offers daily sales in addition to a 10% discount to senior citizens and military members and family. For clothing, certain color tags are 15 items for $5 plus a $1.99 per item for a different color. Talk about a deal! “The Yard” features rotating sales each month with a certain color price tag offering 50% off the item. These sales make thrifting at St. Vinnies even more affordable!

3. Browse “The Yard”

Speaking of “The Yard,” while it can be overlooked, don’t make the mistake of not checking it out. In addition to our indoor retail floor, the outdoor Yard boasts a variety of pre-loved goods including bed frames, furniture, sports equipment, garden supplies and much more! There is always a treasure waiting to be found, so be sure not to miss this section of our store when thrifting.

4. Visit Often

We’re constantly rolling out new merchandise to our retail floor and outdoor Yard. Whether you’re in the market for a specific item or simply enjoy the thrill of the hunt, you’ll be more likely to score great finds if you regularly stop by our thrift store. Plus, you never know when that one item you’ve been eyeing might go on sale!
